And just like that Autumn is showing up

It’s happening! Time to get cosy with sweater weather, cinnamon rolls, pumpkin spice candles, and pumpkin spice lattes (though I’m not a fan of the lattes—just the candles).

Do you enjoy the chance to refresh your home decor with the changing seasons? Now’s your moment to embrace it. It doesn’t take much; a few simple updates to your decor can instantly transform the feel of a room.

Here are 5 simple ways you could bring Autumn in

Add Autumn Colours to your Decor

It is time to bring all the deep, rich tones like burnt orange, mustard, rust, and forest green. But not only, this year we see the return of the earthy palettes and it is all about the chocolate brown, the deep burgundy reds and olive green.

Adding these colours through throw pillows, blankets, or even a fresh coat of paint can bring an immediate seasonal shift.

Try layering different shades of the same colour for extra depth and impact.

Layer Textures

To make any room feel warm and inviting, start by layering textures.

Think about soft knits, plush faux fur, luxurious velvet, and thick wool. Mixing these elements adds depth and cosiness, perfect for autumn.

A chunky knit throw on the couch or a soft wool rug instantly makes the space feel snug and welcoming.

Of course, bring out CAndles and warm lighting

If there is a season to bring back all the candles it is Autumn when we want all that soft, golden glow around the house.

And we obey by the big rule of no harsh overhead light should be ever turned on unless absolutely necessary, like you dropped something and need to locate it.

Instead we turn on table lamps, floor lamps and candles to create a warm, cosy and intimate atmosphere.

If you are feeling it, don’t hesitate to string some fairy lights around a mirror or a shelf too.

Swap statement rugs

Adding an area rug is a simple way to bring in the warmth and comfort associated with autumn.

Opt for a rug with rich colours and bold patterns, like Persian or Moroccan designs, that complement the seasonal tones. Earthy tones or warm reds and oranges are perfect for the season, and the added layer underfoot makes a room feel instantly cosier.

Finally, switch your home decor accessories and artwork

You saw that one coming, this is the moment you bring out the pumpkins or if you want something a little more subtle you let nature inspire you and bring in dried leaves, acorn and seasonal flowers, branches or dried pampas in vases.

Place a seasonal wreath above your fireplace or on your front door.

And finally change the artwork on your wall in warm tones, or even vintage-style posters that reflect the autumn season.
